Sazka, Burger King and Netflix. Ogilvy PR reports new clients

14/11/2023

Ogilvy's PR department has had a successful period. During the summer and autumn, the company succeeded in several tenders and gained new clients from various sectors. As part of a long-term cooperation, Ogilvy will now handle PR and communications for Sazka, Burger King and Netflix on the Czech market. Under the leadership of Václav Rambousek, who took over the management and development of PR expertise at Ogilvy in May this year, the transformation of the PR team in terms of structure, process and personnel is now complete.

"Since May, we have practically not stopped working with the team. In terms of new business, we've pulled out all the stops and leaned into strategically selected tenders that were well announced, transparent and where it made sense for us to become their communication partner," says Václav Rambousek, Ogilvy's PR Director, who manages the PR department in close cooperation with Tereza Raidová. As Head of PR Business, she is involved in strategic decisions on the direction of the team, supervision of client teams and day-to-day operations.

"I went into the whole process of team consolidation, both in terms of business and expertise, with great expectations and even greater respect. I am most pleased that we have managed to connect the entire PR team and create one functioning body with an open approach to sharing experience and inspiration. Without that, we would not have been able to add these achievements to our account. A big thank you goes not only to my colleague Tereza, but to every single member of the team," Rambousek adds.

During August and November, Ogilvy PR managed to win over three new clients; two of them came from tenders and one directly approached the agency.

Sazka launched a two-round tender for a PR agency in August and invited three entities to participate. The cooperation with Ogilvy PR started on 2 September and focuses mainly on communication strategy and communication activities in both corporate and product lines. The task will be to communicate to the primary target group with an overlap to Generation Z, which Sazka wants to target more. A key part of this is the communication support for CSR and sponsorship activities, which, in line with the company's long-term strategy, focuses primarily on the area of sport.

"The Ogilvy team was very responsive to our needs. They brought interesting, creative and very workable solutions. We were convinced that they are well versed in the industry, they follow what is happening in the market, they have good and functional media relations and they realize the importance and power of audio and video content. From the beginning, we also sat down humanly, which was key for us," says Pavla Hobíková, PR manager and spokesperson for Sazka.

Among other things, the agency has already participated in the announcement of Sazka's partnership with BMX biker and Olympic hopeful Iveta Miculyčová and the creative treatment of the Friday the 13th theme in product communication. Towards the end of the year, the communication related to the Christmas offer will be a top priority.

The subject of cooperation with the Burger King chain is mainly corporate and brand communication on topics such as the expansion of the restaurant network on the Czech market or product quality. It will be complemented by product communication focused on the permanent assortment and seasonal offers and products for target groups of different preferences, including plant-based alternatives. Ogilvy PR will also provide Burger King with media services and crisis communication consultations as needed.

"We have been looking for ways to streamline and simplify the way we work and communicate with our agencies. We have been cooperating with the WPP media agency Wavemaker for a long time, so we decided to approach Ogilvy directly for cooperation, which, in addition to its renowned name, is synonymous with high professional standards," explains Filip Vostrý, Marketing Manager at Burger King Czech Republic.

The trio of new PR clients is rounded off by streaming service Netflix, which selected its new PR partner in a multi-round tender. The collaboration is now kicking off in November, with Ogilvy PR liaising with the regional team, which is based in Warsaw and also represents the Czech market. In addition to communications campaigns for priority Netflix titles (e.g. the drama miniseries Griselda, the anticipated Rebel Moon and the new series of the drama Bridgerton), Ogilvy will cover corporate communications with the aim of engaging Netflix in local media and public affairs, strengthening local media relations and influencer relations, and profiling Netflix as a supporter of the Czech film industry.
