Ogilvy’s response to the conflict in Ukraine
Ogilvy is part of WPP, which on Friday 4 March announced the decision by its board to discontinue its operations in Russia.
Ogilvy Czech Republic is in close contact with the Ukrainian office and is coordinating the efforts of Ogilvy offices in the CEE region to offer maximum assistance and support, including helping Ukrainian colleagues and their families who decide to go to the Czech Republic to establish a base or by offering a place to stay.
With other WPP agencies in the Czech Republic, we have set up a local collection to which all employees can contribute financially. The amount raised will then be doubled by the agencies, with up to CZK 1 mio being earmarked for this purpose. The funds raised from employees and the company will be used primarily to help Ukrainian employees and their families on the ground. The remaining funds will be donated to the non-profit organisation People in Need. In addition, the agencies are jointly organising practical assistance and coordinating a collection of necessities to help refugees.
Our response in the Czech Republic is in addition to the global fundraising appeal WPP has created with UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, and WPP’s commitment to match-fund donations from employees.
