"She's a Rebel!" Petr Nárožný exclaims again in forty years in Netflix's first local campaign
There are no heroes, only Rebels! The long-awaited first installment of action sci-fi from director Zack Snyder, Rebel Moon: Part One - Born of Fire, will be released on Netflix on 22 December 2023. The creative concept of the campaign combines the sci-fi world of Rebels with the acting legend of the iconic Christmas tale S čerty nejsou žerty.
After an emergency landing in the farthest reaches of space, Kora, a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among the local villagers. But soon she becomes their only hope for survival. The tyrannical ruler Balisarius and his envoy, Admiral Noble, discover that the villagers have unwittingly sold their harvest to the Bloodax, leaders of a fierce band of rebels persecuted by the Empire. Kora and farmer Gunnar are tasked with finding warriors who will risk their lives to defend the people of the planet Veldt.
The warrior who will strengthen Kora's army is none other than Petr Nárožný, who spends Christmas at his cottage in the Netflix original campaign spot. Equipped with a tray of sweets, he prepares to watch a Christmas programme. The fairy tale S čerty nejsou žerty, in which he portrayed the character of a corporal in 1985, is currently on air. He is in charge of an army of warriors, whom he honours with now-worn-out catchphrases, the most iconic of which is "He's a Rebel!".
Just as Petr Nárožný is trying to change the channel, thinking he already knows the tale intimately, the remote slips out of his hand and starts the Netflix video library with the new sci-fi film Rebel Moon: Part One - Born of Fire. He watches the plot with fascination, which begins to remind him very strikingly of the situations his then-character experienced in the original Czech fairy tale. Thus begins a dynamic sequence of scenes, at the end of which the two rebel worlds merge perfectly.

From the creation of the campaign idea in the creative and PR team of Ogilvy, which started working with Netflix in the PR area in November this year, to the final completion of the spot took about a month. Filming was shot in Warsaw, Poland, directed by Polish director Daniel Jaroszek, who is also behind the Polish local titles from the Netflix streaming service's factory, and the entire video production was handled by the Papaya films team.
The video will be deployed on the official Facebook and YouTube channels of the Netflix brand, and there will also be a PR campaign for the entire production, starring Petr Nárožný.
